Produced by Toei Animation, and based on the Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon (美少女戦士セーラームーン, Bishōjo Senshi Sērā Mūn) manga, written and illustrated by mangaka Naoko Takeuchi (武内直子), from 1991 to 1997.
Created after the layout, the genga is an original Japanese animation drawing representing a key pose from a sequence. The genga is drawn in graphite pencil and colored pencils on animation paper by one of the anime’s chief animators.
