After the colonel uses a second SOL (Satellite Orbital Laser) blast in an attempt to annihilate him, Tetsuo briefly undergoes what will be his final metamorphosis. This is the first glimpse of Tetsuo's tragic fate.
The Akira manga color guides were first published by Epic Comics, starting in 1988, for the American edition. The Akira (アキラ) manga was created by mangaka Katsuhiro Otomo (大友 克洋). These color guides were subsequently used for all Western publications.
