KISHIMOTO Masashi - NARUTO
430 – Naruto (trapped by Chakra threads) – A4

430 – An original hand drawn production drawing, here a correction sheet, as beautiful as a genga, from the Anime series Naruto. Used in episode 140, where Naruto is hold by Kabuto Chakra threads. Made with graphite pencil and color pencils on colored animation paper. Slight handling wear from production. Corrections sheets are drawn after a rough genga has been pencilled. The animator responsible for character designs uses yellow paper to make corrections, between the rough genga and the final genga. His job is to make sure the look of the characters stay consistent throughout the runtime of an episode. Original production drawings are one-of-a-kind pieces of animation art. Prior to the creation of cels (until the early 2000’s) or the digital painting, each character pose and action must be drawn in pencil. These drawings are the artistic backbone of the film or television show, and are much in demand by collectors. All animation art and production drawings (layout, douga, genga, cel) sold by Galerie de la Bande Dessinee are safely sealed in archival bags with acid-free backing boards to keep the production art protected. Original production drawings are very desirable, because it is at this stage that the animators really brought the characters to life. Original production drawings are a spectacular addition to any animation art collection, and a great way to enjoy the artistry behind your favorite Anime series and animated series.

Each original anime production drawing that we sell, was drawn during the production of the anime, by one of the animators working for the Japanese studio responsible for producing the anime.

Each purchase of an original anime production drawing comes with a detailed invoice, issued by Galerie de la Bande Dessinée. This invoice includes the visual of the original anime production drawing, as well as its description, thus certifying the authenticity of each original anime production drawing available for sale at our art gallery.
