Pierre Dawance was born in Paris in 1996.
After studying literature, Pierre Dawance enrolled at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 2017. Graduating in 2021, he has since worked in illustration and comics. For Whom the Bell Tolls is his first graphic novel, created entirely in colored pencils. Published by Sarbacane on April 15, 2026.
For Whom the Bell Tolls, adapted by French writer JD Morvan and illustrated by Pierre Dawance, is a graphic novel adaptation of Ernest Hemingway’s famous novel, published in 1940.
